Redwood Family Center

Redwood Family Center provides women that are recovering from drug and alcohol addiction an opportunity to be reunited with their children in a structured environment as they rebuild their lives and recover from the effects of a devastating disease.  The goal of RFC is to provide long-term residential support to RFC women and assist them with their treatment program during their period of transition from early recovery back into the mainstream of life. RFC has helped numerous women heal their hearts and lives and be restored to their children, families and society as contributing members. Redwood Family Center guides and directs the residents to help them build discipline in every area of their lives and to establish a healthy sense of self-worth and esteem.

In 2002 IFM took possession of a vacant senior group home facility and with the help of Modesto area citizens, businesses, organizations and congregations, RFC opened its doors on January 6, 2003 with eight women and five children. The residents may stay at RFC from six (6) to eighteen (18) months and the center can accommodate up to 60 women and/or women & children, plus up to fourteen (14) cribs or bassinets.

The women that enter Redwood Family Center are in need of a life changing experience. RFC provides the opportunity to renew their minds by the transforming power of God’s Love and God’s Word coupled with the application of practical program services.  RFC services include:  Aids & Hepatitis testing, mental and physical health services, judicial advocacy within the reunification process of Family Court and Drug Court and transportation to area AA & NA meetings and other programs. Redwood Family Center also offers a comprehensive life skills program to include: G.E. D. classes and preparation, nutrition and personal grooming consultation, relapse prevention and parenting classes, in-house AA & NA 12-step meetings, spiritual & self-help instruction  and guidance. Our residents work side by side each day - they’re learning the importance of collaboration, community, trust others, healthy relationship building, and establishment of boundaries. The result has been, and continues to overwhelmingly be – CHANGED LIVES!

RFC has established numerous program partnerships throughout the area to include close collaboration with: Child Welfare Services, Parent Resource Center, Sierra Vista, First Step, Parents United, Center for Human Services, Stanislaus Community Assistance Project, and Families in Partnership. RFC receives both public & private funding. IFM provides “scholarships” for up to 20% of RFC’s women that do not qualify for public funds. The good news is that you can be part of the solution; make a donation to Inter-Faith Ministries to help us support the women and children and give them the opportunity for a new life colored with hope and optimism.
